Alchemy 100% Transformation – South India's 1st Professional School for Acting & Modelling
Right from his child hood he has been associated with the line of arts & creativity. Vijay has
had a complete training in the art of Bharatanatyam, under the tutelage of guru Shri. V. P.
Dhananjayan, for over 10 years. During this period he has performed extensively across the
globe and has had rich experience of working on productions associated with Dr. Bala Murali
Krishna, Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia, Guru Smt. K . J. Sarasa and many more. He was also a
regular artiste with the Doordharshan Kendra - Chennai. He also went ahead and learnt French
Ballet, Kathakali, Folk dances of India and also was very active in the school and college theatre
scene. All this gave Vijay a lot of experience towards light, sound, make up, stage, choreography
& group co-ordination.
After schooling he graduated in the stream of Physics from Loyola College - Chennai. This could
not satisfy his creative quench and hence he joined National Institute of Fashion Technology
(NIFT) to complete his studies to become a professional Fashion Designer. He was immediately
absorbed by the Arvindh Mafatlal Group - Mumbai. Later on from there he moved to London to
join Marks & Spencer as their designer. During his stay of over 2 years in UK he also associated
himself with a theatre group in Manchester.
On his return to India, he was absorbed by the media industry as a designer immediately.
During this span of work in the media industry he gained a lot of knowledge by working with
names such as Sabu Cyril, Thotta Tharani, Ranjan Pramod, Ravi. K. Verman, Rathnavelu, Susi
Ganesan, K. V. Anand, V .T. Vijayan, etc. His association with the industry today spans over 15
years.
Having understood the dearth & requirement for groomed models, in 1999, Vijay pulled in all
these experiences together and founded Alchemy - 100% Transformation, South India's 1st
Professional School for Acting & Modeling.
